I. overview:

The lightweight, thin-walled, ultra-high-strength steel drill pipe can be used to solve the drilling problems of long-displacement Wells, ultra-deep Wells and deep water drilling. However, due to the brittleness of high strength steel at low temperature, it is difficult to achieve a balance between impact toughness and tensile strength. Recently,GrantPrideco developed the ud-165 ultra-high strength steel drill pipe (vm-165 ultra-high strength steel), whose unique heat treatment process enables the drill pipe to meet both yield strength and toughness requirements.

Ii. Characteristics of ultra-high strength steel drill pipe

In order to demonstrate the performance advantages of the ud-165, the related parameters of the high performance steel drill pipe are compared.
